Step 3: Key Application Filing Deadlines FAFSA and Dream Application filing period: January 1 st thru March 2 nd, 2015 Priority funding consideration deadline: 2

FAFSA Login Step 4: Be sure your name matches what’s on your social security card.

Use your PIN Step 5: Have your PIN # ready. Forgot your PIN? Click on “Request a Duplicate PIN” NEW applicants can apply for a PIN

Create a Password Step 6: Create a password If you want to save the information and come back later.

Student Information Step 7: Enter student information

School Selection Step 8: List up to 10 schools. Schools will only receive the information if you list them.

Your Dependency Status? Step 9: Answer “No” to all the questions will require parent information. Answer “Yes” to any 1 question will consider you as an independent student.

Parent Personal Information Step 10: Enter parent’s information. Important: Names must match social security card. For 2015 -16, it will say “Parent 1 & Parent 2”

Parent Financial Information Step 11: If possible, utilize IRS data retrieval. Available February 1, 2015.

FAFSA Confirmation Step 14: You’re done! • Make sure your email address is correct • You can transfer your parent’s info. to a sibling’s FAFSA • Verify the schools that you want listed • Your eligibility is determined by your EFC

Helpful Hints • March 2 nd deadline applies to everything but don’t wait until the last minute. • FAFSA processing priority: Parents getting a refund will get FAFSA processed quicker • FAFSA: Apply early after January 1 st. Use estimated information and update later. • Provide accurate financial information • If you are selected, don’t panic, but don’t delay submitting documents either. Make copies of everything you submit. • If you have questions, don’t assume-ask!
