2013 Winner PAIGE MERRIT Paige has chosen to attend Sam Houston State. She will major in Kinesiology and then go on to become a Physical Therapist.
Tanner Pitts 2012 Recipient Tanner was among 15 seniors recognized for Distinguished Achievement and among the top ten of the 2012 SHS senior class. And if that wasn't enough, he was inducted into the National Honor Society, by SSAA member and Salado teacher, Dennis Cabaness! Tanner plans to attend Texas State University in San Marcos, majoring in journalism and communications. Once he completes his first degree, he plans to go on and get his master's! The young lady in this picture with Tanner is Tori Sellers, President of the SHS senior class and granddaughter of Wanda Phillips Sellers, SHS class of 1963!
Jared Bryant 2011 Recipient • Jared plans to attend Sam Houston State University majoring in Law Enforcement and intends to be a policeman. • We are proud that Jared attended Kindergarten through 12 th grade in Salado!
Salado School Alumni Association’s 2010 Scholarship Recipient • The 2010 SSAA scholarship winner is Daniel Michael. Danny will be attending Central Texas College, studying law enforcement. • Danny is pictured with his mom, Rebecca Mc. Gillick.
William Randolph (Trey) Liller III 2009 Scholarship Recipient • Trey is planning to attend Baylor University and major in mechanical engineering. • He is described as an exceptionally good student and athlete, polite and helpful. • Trey is a fine young man and we can be proud in assisting him in his pursuit of higher education. • He is pictured with his mother, Patti Garcia and his greatgrandmother, Beatrice Gil.
Kevin Jackson 2008 Scholarship Recipient • Kevin is the SHS Salutatorian for 2008, with a GPA of 4. 0. He is the son of Randy Jackson, SHS class of 1980 and Saundra Naiver Jackson, SHS class of 1981. • Kevin’s grandparents are also Salado alumni-K. W. Jackson, Pat Wolfe, and Franklyn Naiver. • Kevin plans to go to Texas A&M University and major in business. • Kevin is one of Salado’s star pitchers. In the 2008 semi-final game against the Grape Creek Eagles, he pitched a no-hitter--the first nohitter pitched at the state playoffs by any team, any class (1 A-5 A) since 1995! In the finals, Kevin and his teammates led Salado to its first ever State Championship in baseball against the Corsicana Mildred Eagles.
