K. ; Editor of the Health Information and Libraries Journal (SSCI) Maria has an academic background in information science and provides literature searching advice and support within the Centre for Nursing & Midwifery Research, University of Salford. She is the Editor of the Health Information and Libraries Journal, the official journal of the Health Libraries Group and Chair of the 6 th International Evidence Based Practice Conference (EBLIP 6) to be hosted in Salford in 27 th-30 th June 2011 (http: //bit. ly/9 tt 6 j 1). Her research interests include writing for publication, continuing professional development within the library and information science sector, nursing informatics, e-Health, enhancing practice through the investigation of optimal database searching - particularly in relation to qualitative research evidence - and systematic reviews. Further details of her work can be found at http: //www. seek. salford. ac. uk/profiles/MGRANT. jsp Main Lecture: Writing for Publication: Personal and Editorial Perspectives The speaker intends to talk about personal research and experiences of using writers groups to support writing activity and the Chinese Scholars Network, a resource developed by Wiley-Blackwell to support Chinese speaking authors wishing to write for English language journals. This lecture will also incorporate details of the type of health information and library research undertaken in the UK as part of the editorial perspective. Workshop: How do health information and libraries support continuing professional development?
