TYPES OF WAR • Civil • Disputes within a country over the direction, governmental system, or composition of the country • Examples include: US Civil War; Spanish Civil War; Chinese Civil War • Guerrilla (See Causes and Effects pages 18 -20) • Can be seen as a type of war but is most often considered a tactic • Examples of its use include: American Revolutionary War; Chinese Civil War; Vietnam War; Cuban Revolution • Revolutionary/ Wars for Independence • American Revolution • French Revolution • Haitian Revolution • Latin American Wars for Independence • Types of war can vary depending on your perspective and can be different types in different theaters of war
