Path #1 Veterinarian
Description ■ A veterinarian in Canada is a doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM), a professional in animal health care who has completed a university degree at a veterinary college. It typically takes 4 years to finish a DVM degree. Veterinarians may also choose to continue their studies after their graduations to become specialized in areas such as surgery, dentistry, cardiology or other fields
Requirements ■ You need to go to veterinarian school for 4 years to get your DMV degree ■ To practice veterinary medicine, students must obtain a licence by passing the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE). ■ Graduates with a DVM degree are employed in many areas: private clinics, research, shelter medicine, public policy, global veterinary medicine and others ■ If you want to specialize in a field such as surgery, dentistry or medicine more schooling is required
Suitability ■ I believe I would fit in perfectly in this career I have dreamt about being a vet for as long as I can remember and my love for animals will just set fuel to the fire
Path #2 physiotherapist
Description ■ Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. ■ They maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease. ■ The profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to stay in work while helping them to remain independent for as long as possible.
Requirements ■ The minimum requirement for a person to become a psychotherapist is to have a master’s degree in clinical psychology, clinical social work or counseling. ■ Some states may also ask for a Ph. D. In the same field. Master’s and doctoral level degree programs also include 2 years of clinical experience. ■ Candidates must pass the examination for professional practice in psychology
Suitability ■ I think I would be right for this job because I have always been interested in how the body works, and I love to interact with people, and if I go into this field I would want to work with athletes because I am one myself and am interested in helping them
