What is matter? Anything that has mass and takes up space is this.
What is coral? This is an example of a living shelter.
What are rain, snow and sleet? A type of precipitation.
What is dormancy? This occurs when plant growth slows. (Often in winter)
What is mass? This the measure of the amount of matter.
What are habitats? These can change from season to season.
What are hurricanes, blizzards or thunderstorms? A common type of storm.
What are temperature and light? One factor that causes trees to lose their leaves in the fall.
What is volume? This is when we measure the amount of space that matter occupies.
What is adapt? If a habitat changes, an animal must do this to survive.
What is precipitation? This is when gas changes to a liquid.
What is migration? When animals travel from one place to another and then back again.
What is a physical change? This kind of change occurs when matter changes from one state to another.
What are weather, fire and humans? Name a factor that can change habitats over time.
What is a thermometer? This is the instrument used to measure temperature.
What is hibernation? A deep sleep that some animals go in during the winter.
What are solid, liquid and gas? Matter can occur in these three states.
What are food, air, water and shelter? Animals need these four things to survive.
What is a drought? This can occur when there is not enough rain in an area.
What is camouflage? When an animal looks similar to the background and uses it to hide.
