Making Economic Choices African nations wanted to develop and to do this they had to establish transportation systems, develop resources, increase general knowledge, and solve rural poverty. � Socialism and capitalism were economic choices chosen by many African nations. �
Environmental Threats �Urbanization, farming, and logging have devoured 70 percent of Africa’s animal habitats. �Wangari Maathai challenged government policy by starting the Green Belt Movement.
Basic Obstacles to Well-Being Drought Brings Starvation: › Long droughts contributed to famine in many parts of Africa in the late 1900’s. AIDS Kills Millions of People: › It was estimated that more than two million Africans died of AIDS each year.
