I. EXPECT GOD TO BE GOOD Psalm 31: 19 19 How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. Psalm 27: 13 -14 13 Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. 14 Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. I. EXPECT GOD TO BE GOOD Psalm 34: 8 8 Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Psalm 116: 5 -7 5 How kind the Lord is! How good he is! II. EXPECT GOD TO BE YOUR ROCK Psalm 18: 30 -31 30 God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. 31 For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? Psalm 61: 1 -4 1 O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! 2 From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety, 3 for you are my safe refuge, a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me. 4 Let me live forever in your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of your wings!

I John 2: 16 -17 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
