11 Content overview Autumn Half Term 1 Half Term 2 Component 1: Devising Component 1 & Component 2: Scripted Practical Students will continue to develop their practical performance pieces based on the given stimuli released by the exam board. Students will be supported to complete their portfolios of supporting evidence to accompany their practical devising work. Specific deadlines for assessment will be released to students so that they are able to plan and complete the work needed. Students will also be supported in developing the notes needed to assist them in writing their evaluation of the practical in their controlled assessment. Alongside their practical work students will be supported to compile their portfolios of supporting evidence whilst working practically. AO’s Assessment Exam Board Spring AO 1 Create and develop ideas to communicate meaning for theatrical performance. AO 2 Apply theatrical skills to realise artistic intentions in live performance. AO 4 Analyse and evaluate your own work and the work of others. Devising Performance Portfolio Evaluation - Internally Assessed/Moderated Half Term 3 Summer Half Term 4 Half Term 5 Half Term 6 Component 2: Scripted Practical & Component 3: Set Text / Live Theatre Students will continue to develop their scripted pieces in preparation for the visiting examiner. Alongside this work students will re-visit the set text through practical work shops. They will also be encouraged to develop their analytical writing style through practice questions based on live theatre. During this time students will be grouped and begin their work on their scripted performances. AO 2 Apply theatrical skills to realise artistic intentions in live performance. AO 4 Analyse and evaluate your own work and the work of others. Portfolio Evaluation - Internally Assessed/Moderated AO 2 Apply theatrical skills to realise artistic intentions in live performance. AO 3 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how drama and theatre is developed and performed. EXAM SEASON END OF Y 11 Written Exam: Section A; DNA, Section B; Live Theatre Analysis – Marked Externally Scripted Practical – visiting examiner EDUQAS: All coursework and examinations are completed and finalised during Year 11. Students have three components of the course to complete: devising, scripted performance and written examination. Within these three components there are 4 assessment objectives laid out by the exam board. In order to attain high band marks students must: Create highly imaginative ideas. Show a highly effective application of performance skills including very sensitive interaction with other Performers. Show a well-rounded knowledge of the set text with reference to design, acting and directing. Show excellent and perceptive analysis and evaluation.
