Schools 100 years ago • • • Schools were not very fun back then You couldn’t speak unless spoken to You had to obey the rules all the time You had to sit at your desk and face the front The lessons were basic and boring just like the dinners The teachers were strict, mean and unkind If you were naughty you would become the dunce of the class The classes were very cold and there was a fire to keep the teacher warm They had to use slates and chalks for every lesson.

Schools today Schools are now fun We can now discuss our work with partners on tables We still have to obey the rules of the school and uphold the values We can work in groups and not have to face the front all the time Lessons are exiting and we learn about lots of different things The food is also delicious Our teachers are still strict but are kind and would never call you a dunce! We don’t have dunces anymore if we are naughty we get told off and we must think about our behaviour • Our school is warm and we have central heating now • We now have a lot of equipment to write and draw on like pads of paper and pens, pencils an interactive whiteboard and lots of computers!!!!!!!! • •
