10 Steps to Running a Marathon By Step
10 Steps to Running a Marathon By: __________
Step 1: Get more Equipment To get running equipment, it’s important to go to the proper stores that know about running such as ‘’Endurance’’ in Montreal, ‘’Jog-X’’ in Vaudreuil, ‘’ 42. 2’’ in Laval and more. It is important that I get advice from experts who know about run so that you don’t buy the wrong products. Having good equipment will prevent me from getting hurt.
Step 2: Train on my own Time To train on my own time I need to choose a good time. I don’t it want to be too hot or too cold. For example it’s a good idea to go out and run early in the mornings on hot summer days so that it’s not too hot. In winter, midday is probably the best time to run since the temperature will be at its highest.
Step 3: 4: Upgrade the my Distances distances To upgrade my distances I will have to calculate the distances that I have run. Every now and then, add a kilometer or two so that I slowly improve my distances. I will have to take it slow because it isn’t good to jump, for example, from 5 km to 21 km. It’s important because you want your body to get used to running long distances. 42 KM 21 KM
Step 4: Keep Healthy To keep healthy I will need to eat healthy food and keep myself hydrated, especially before a race or a run. I always keep in mind that I want to be an athlete and I have to watch what I’m eating and how it’s going to affect my trainings for my races. It’s important because I want to have the right energy when I run. Food is an important part of running because that is what will keep me moving.
Step 5: Have a Personal Trainer To find a personal trainer I will have to look in gyms, phone books and talk to people who run and know how to train. A personal trainer is important to have so that they keep you in shape. It’s important to train for running but I will also need to upgrade my cardio. I want to keep my upper body strong and healthy, just like my legs will be.
Step 6: Find a Running Club A running club is similar to a personal trainer. In a running club, the people know what you are living, they share the same experiences and they have the same dream. By being in a running club I can run with people, I can support them and they can support me. Surrounding yourself with the same dream and experiences will give you the strength to continue running.
Step 7: Run Shorter Races To compete in other races I will have to find them by looking on the internet, more specifically running websites. The coaches of the running club will keep me informed on the races I should do. Another way is to look in running stores, sometimes they have flyers of upcoming races that they sponsor or host. Running in other races gets your body used to those distances in racing mode.
Step 8: Improve my Times To improve my times I will have to look at my time after running a certain distance and record it. Next time I will run that distance, I will run it with speed in between, that is called intervals. Improving my time is an important step because if one day I would like to win, or be close to winning. I will have to keep my times the lowest possible.
Step 9: Choosing a Marathons can be run all over the world, so which one will I choose? I would like to start by running in Quebec. Later on, I would like to run in different places of the world. To find a marathon, again, I will look on running websites and have people keep me informed. I would like my first marathon to be in a place that I will remember.
Step 10: Accomplish More Marathons To accomplish more marathons I will have to continue my training and keep improving, always. To improve, I will have to repeat the 9 steps in this power point and qualify to run certain marathons, this means finishing the marathon in a certain amount of time. Winning a marathon one day is my ultimate goal, but running a marathon itself is a great accomplishment.
I Have Ran a Marathon It’s important to accomplish this dream because I have trained so hard. I believed in myself and this is the result. I am proud of myself for running such a distance. It’s going to change the rest of my life because I will keep training to run more marathons.
