3. Међународни пројекти и донације • Project “First Mobile Planetarium in Serbia” – UNESCO donation 24500 USD - based on IYA 2009 goals, particularly on increasing Universe awareness among schoolchildren, planetarium shows should present astronomy to children of all ages. - planned to reach schools in even most distant and rural places (“no child left behind” idea) across the country. • Project “ 100 Galileoscopes for Serbia” – IYA 2009 donation - rewards for most active astronomy sections from 1700 (total number) schools in Serbia, - gifts for schools in most distant and rural places, - rewards for two best artworks at the painting/writing competition “The Universe, yours to discover” (winners are going to be announced in April 2010). Important notice: These two projects were completely created and written in the frame of UNAWE-Serbia, but submitted in behalf of Society of Astronomers of Serbia (UNESCO Participating Program) and National Node (for galileoscopes) in order to contribute to astronomy development in the country in general, particularly education and communication, as well as better cooperation between scientists and communicators (planetarians). These two donations have been the very first international donations in the field of astronomy education and communication in Serbia ever.

Мобилни планетаријум / могуће пратеће активности • Art competition (painting & writing) for kids

Мобилни планетаријум / могуће пратеће активности • Art competition (painting & writing) for kids “Universe – Yours to Discover” (September 2008 - April 2010) collected nearly 1000 artworks. It is going to become a traditional ASTRONOMY/INSPIRATION/ART (AIA) competition for kids (5 to 15 years) in the future. Next AIA competition, “Star detectives”, will open in September 2010. • Astronomy performance for kids “Balloon, glass of water and a cell phone”, first performed at Show Physics (Apr 2009), use three simple things to explain the Big Bang theory, expansion, content and size of the Universe. It has been shown to 1100 children (18 shows) in 2009 -2010. This show is easygoing and fun so it will continue in 2010 in cooperation with schools and preschools. • Astronomy book for kids: “Pirouette and Milky Way” (2008 -2012) describes the Universe trough the mother-daughter conversation started with ballet costume talk. Book should be (finally) published in 2012.
