Sophomore Letter Review Welcome to your sophomore year! Recently in the mail, you should have a received a copy of your transcript and a special bookmark that includes a note from us, your counselors, along with some supportive mental health resources. This presentation will review the sophomore letter to help you to understand monitor your graduation status. Let’s get started!

First Column: Subject Area This is a list of the subject areas you need

First Column: Subject Area This is a list of the subject areas you need to complete in order to meet your graduation requirements. Reminder, these are the high school graduation requirements not the college a-g subject entrance requirements.

2 nd Column: Credit Required This is a list of the credits required for

2 nd Column: Credit Required This is a list of the credits required for each subject area. At the bottom of this list you will see a total of 220. You need a total of 220 credits to graduate and those 220 credits must be in the correct subjects areas.

3 rd Column: Credit Completed This column shows the credits you have earned so

3 rd Column: Credit Completed This column shows the credits you have earned so far in each of the subject areas. You should have a total of at least 40 credits in this column to be considered on track for graduation.

4 th Column: Enrolled Credit This column shows the credits you are currently enrolled

5 th Column: Credit Still Required This column is for credits that you still

5 th Column: Credit Still Required This column is for credits that you still need to earn to graduate which includes your junior and senior years. If the total number of credits in this column is 120 or less, you are on track for graduation. If the total number of credits in this column is more than 120, or if you are missing credits in a required subject from 9 th grade, you will need to make up these credits in addition to your junior and senior year credits in order to meet your graduation requirements. To make up credits, you will need to consider options like summer school and/or credit recovery programs in your junior and maybe, senior year.
