The conference promotes the overall goal and mission of DSU in becoming a premiere teaching university in the state and the region. 3. The conference helps faculty and staff to become more effective teachers focusing on promoting effective active student learning. If our university tagline is Active Learning: Active Life, we need to ensure we have effective active learning happening in our courses. 4. The conference promotes a culture of scholarship of teaching and learning. 5. The conference is an opportunity to learn best practices and ideas from each other on campus. We have a wealth of experience related to effective teaching and learning on this campus. This campus is a great networking opportunity with our colleagues. 6.
