The velocity of light in a material (index of refraction), depends on the wavelength of the light.
Hue 色 澤 • A hue is the saturation of a color and is what stays constant in a color , i. e. the property of being away from white. • “purple” is a technical term: it designates not just one color or hue, but a whole class of them. On our two-dimensional diagram, purples form a triangle. • Each hue has a complementary hue.

Gamut 色 域 • the 3 phosphors' maximal intensities are chosen so that adding them up gives the desired white. • Certainly a monitor cannot display a color outside of the triangle in the chromaticity plane formed by its three phosphors although they can represent every hue.
Gamma correction • Gamma describes the nonlinear relationship between the pixel levels in your computer and the luminance of your monitor (the light energy it emits). The equation is, L = C * valuegamma + black level. C is set by the monitor Contrast control. Value is the pixel level normalized to a maximum of 1. For an 8 bit monitor with pixel levels 0 - 255, value = (pixel level)/255. gamma is defined as the product of monitor's native gamma and video card lookup table (LUT) gamma. Briefly, Gamma is contrast. The Contrast control on monitors and television sets is actually brightness, and the Brightness control is, as we've seen, black level.
Color transformation Since the human eye has three types of color sensor that respond to different ranges of wavelengths, a full plot of all visible colors is a three-dimensional figure. However, the concept of color can be divided into two parts: brightness and chromaticity. CIE 1926 seriously underestimates sensitivity at wavelengths below 460 nm CIE 1964 Standard ; 2 degrees which covers only the fovea and 10 degree field of view the CIE L*a*b* color space, both of which were designed to have an equal distance in the color space correspond to equal differences in color
