Insulation : a material that reduces or prevents the transmission of heat, cold, sound, or electricity Reflection : occurs when a light ray hits a surface and bounces off. Absorption : occurs when one substance becomes a part of another substance, like when a sponge absorbs water. Transparent : Light passes easily through transparent materials. This means you can see clearly through them. Modifications : are changes or alterations, usually to make something work better.

The sun provides light and heat. Plants need sunlight to grow. Animals, including humans, need plants for food and the oxygen they produce. Without heat energy from the sun, Earth would freeze. There would be no winds, ocean currents, or clouds to transport water.

We use the sun’s energy in lots of ways: ● to heat our planet, ● to heat ourselves, ● to grow plants, ● to enable our bodies to make vitamin D, ● to provide light so that we can see, ● to make electricity with solar panels The sun is so powerful that in 15 minutes, the sun radiates as much energy as everyone on Earth uses in all forms in an entire year.
