Analysis 1 Composition 2 A Primer of Visual Language by Donis A. Dondis’s reading walks through each of the concepts in detail, particularly clarifying my previous mis-conceptions about leveling, charpening and balance. Balance, as Dondis mentioned, is a psychological as well as physical influence on human perception. This introduction brought me to understand our perception in making items balance, or imagining a ‘visual axis. ’ Moreover, I have grown to become more aware of how we perceive visual stress and how that can be visually portrayed.
