Analysis 1 Composition 2 A Primer of Visual Language by Donis A. Dondis pp. 20 -38 pp. 85 -103 A few key points that I utilized in this composition were • People’s preference for a concentrated lower-left • Emphasis on the relationship between two objects. I tried to emphasize one particular quality in one piece by juxtoposing it to a very different, but complementary piece. By seeing the difference, one can understand the value of each, however I tried to make some of the pieces into one ‘bigger piece’. • Ultimately, (after much fooling around), I choose the ‘snake’ because it gave me pieces that I could play with and change, in the context of a ‘body’. I could use it to add balance or take away balance. Dondis made good points about balance and stress. Design Workshop Assignments Interface Aesthetics Spring 2015 Elisabeth Prescott & Kimiko Ryokai
