1 1 In those days Hezekiah became ill

1. 그 때에 히스기야가 병들어 죽게 되니 아모스의 아들 선지자 이사야가 나아가 그에게 이르되 여호 와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 너는 네 집에 유언하 라 네가 죽고 살지 못하리라 하셨나이다 하니 1. In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, 'This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover. '

2. 히스기야가 얼굴을 벽으로 향하고 여호와께 기 도하여 2. Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,

3. 이르되 여호와여 구하오니 내가 주 앞에서 진실 과 전심으로 행하며 주의 목전에서 선하게 행한 것 을 기억하옵소서 하고 히스기야가 심히 통곡하니 3. 'Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes. ' And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

5. 너는 가서 히스기야에게 이르기를 네 조상 다윗 의 하나님 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시기를 내가 네 기도를 들었고 네 눈물을 보았노라 내가 네 수한 에 십오 년을 더하고 5. "Go and tell Hezekiah, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.

6. 너와 이 성을 앗수르 왕의 손에서 건져내겠고 내 가 또 이 성을 보호하리라 6. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.

8. 보라 아하스의 해시계에 나아갔던 해 그림자를 뒤로 십 도를 물러가게 하리라 하셨다 하라 하시더 니 이에 해시계에 나아갔던 해의 그림자가 십 도를 물러가니라 8. I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz. ' " So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.

9. 유다 왕 히스기야가 병들었다가 그의 병이 나은 때에 기록한 글이 이러하니라 9. A writing of Hezekiah king of Judah after his illness and recovery:

10. 내가 말하기를 나의 중년에 스올의 문에 들어가 고 나의 여생을 빼앗기게 되리라 하였도다 10. I said, 'In the prime of my life must I go through the gates of death and be robbed of the rest of my years? '

12. 나의 거처는 목자의 장막을 걷음 같이 나를 떠 나 옮겨졌고 직공이 베를 걷어 말음 같이 내가 내 생명을 말았도다 주께서 나를 틀에서 끊으시리니 조석간에 나를 끝내시리라 12. Like a shepherd's tent my house has been pulled down and taken from me. Like a weaver I have rolled up my life, and he has cut me off from the loom; day and night you made an end of me.

13. 내가 아침까지 견디었사오나 주께서 사자 같이 나의 모든 뼈를 꺾으시오니 조석간에 나를 끝내시 리라 13. I waited patiently till dawn, but like a lion he broke all my bones; day and night you made an end of me.

14. 나는 제비 같이, 학 같이 지저귀며 비둘기 같이 슬피 울며 내 눈이 쇠하도록 앙망하나이다 여호와 여 내가 압제를 받사오니 나의 중보가 되옵소서 14. I cried like a swift or thrush, I moaned like a mourning dove. My eyes grew weak as I looked to the heavens. I am troubled; O Lord, come to my aid!'

15. 주께서 내게 말씀하시고 또 친히 이루셨사오니 내가 무슨 말씀을 하오리이까 내 영혼의 고통으로 말미암아 내가 종신토록 방황하리이다 15. But what can I say? He has spoken to me, and he himself has done this. I will walk humbly all my years because of this anguish of my soul.

17. 보옵소서 내게 큰 고통을 더하신 것은 내게 평 안을 주려 하심이라 주께서 내 영혼을 사랑하사 멸 망의 구덩이에서 건지셨고 내 모든 죄를 주의 등 뒤 에 던지셨나이다 17. Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back.

18. 스올이 주께 감사하지 못하며 사망이 주를 찬양 하지 못하며 구덩이에 들어간 자가 주의 신실을 바 라지 못하되 18. For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

19. 오직 산 자 곧 산 자는 오늘 내가 하는 것과 같 이 주께 감사하며 주의 신실을 아버지가 그의 자녀 에게 알게 하리이다 19. The living, the living-they praise you, as I am doing today; fathers tell their children about your faithfulness.

20. 여호와께서 나를 구원하시리니 우리가 종신토 록 여호와의 전에서 수금으로 나의 노래를 노래하 리로다 20. The LORD will save me, and we will sing with stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the temple of the LORD.
